How the type-read classification works
To enable type-read permission for users, the Atlas administrator must perform the following tasks:
- Create a classification type in Atlas.
- Configure the Ranger policy for the classifications or a set of classifications that the administrator plans to apply for the read-type permission.
Let us consider an example use case:
The Atlas administrator creates the classification types. In this case “ExampleClassification1” and “ExampleClassification2”

The Atlas administrator creates a new Ranger policy and applies the same Ranger policy for user “sam” to access ClassificationExample1.

Log in as the Atlas user (in this case “sam”) and based on the access provided, you can view the read authorised classifications and perform necessary actions.

The designated user can only access “ExampleClassification1” and “ExampleClassification2” classification cannot be viewed or accessed.
