Advanced configuration snippet (Safety valve)

You must set the Hive service Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) for Ranger. This setting is applicable only if you are upgrading from HDP 2.6.5 to CDP Private Cloud Base 7.1.6.

1. Log in to Cloudera Manager UI
2. Navigate to Clusters
3. Select the Hive service
4. Go to Configurations
5. Search for Hive Service Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) for ranger-hive-security.xml
6. Add the ranger.plugin.hive.service.name=<hive-repo-name> configuration
