Installing Cloudera Manager and a Cloudera Private Cloud Base

Before installing Cloudera Edge Management, you need to set up Cloudera Private Cloud Base withCloudera Manager.

Make sure you have installed a JDK.
If you intend to use an external database, ensure you have installed and configured it.

See the Cloudera Private Cloud Base Installation Guide for comprehensive instructions on installing Cloudera Manager and a Cloudera Private Cloud Base cluster. Ensure to perform the following minimum steps.

Install Cloudera Private Cloud Base.

Enable Auto-TLS and Kerberos.

Unsecured Cloudera Edge Management is not supported.

- Wildcard certificates are not supported.
- If Cloudera Edge Management operates behind Knox, do not use wildcard certificates for Knox.

As Cloudera Edge Management has no dependency on any other Cloudera Private Cloud Base service, you do not need to install additional services.

When the Cloudera Private Cloud Base cluster installation is ready, add the Cloudera Edge Management parcel and CSD files.
