Enabling Python scripting in the Windows MSI can result in various issues during in-place upgrades. These issues may lead to installation, upgrade, or uninstall failures.

Following the below instructions can help mitigate the issues encountered during installation or upgrade.

• Avoid in-place upgrades.

  Always perform a clean uninstall before installing a new version of the software.

• Fix the issues with the minifi_native.pyd file.

  • If the extensions\minifi_native.pyd file does not exist and an uninstall, change, repair, or upgrade operation fails, create the file manually.
  • If the file exists and the operation fails, delete the file and try creating it again.
