What's new in Edge Flow Manager
Edge Flow Manager (EFM) enables you to manage, control, and monitor agents that are deployed on edge devices in IoT implementations. You can use these agents to collect real-time data from the devices to create and push actionable intelligence and insights back to the place of data origin.
Edge Flow Manager 2.2.0.0 is a feature release with new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes, including:
- New Flow Designer
-
A modernized Flow Designer aligned with Cloudera DataFlow.
- Automatic data polling
-
Listings and data on the page are automatically reloaded every 30 seconds without a page refresh.
- Flow version management
-
You can now undo/redo previous changes in the Flow Designer and load any previously published flow version into the Flow Designer.
- Resource Manager
-
Resource Manager is an enhanced version of Asset Push, available through the EFM UI. The Asset Push functionality is deprecated and will be removed in future releases. With the Resource Manager, you can upload assets and extensions directly through the EFM UI, assign them to specific agent classes, and deploy new MiNiFi extensions or ML models at runtime. This ensures that all agents, including newly joined and offline ones, receive these files automatically as opposed to when using the Asset Push feature. For more information, see Managing resources.
- Agent Manager persistent table layout
-
Edits to the table layout are now persisted in your browser, allowing you to see your preferred columns in your defined order, even when navigating to another menu.
- Bulk operation fine-tuning properties
-
Additional configuration properties give you more control over batch operation queue limits, reducing EFM load by defining how many agents perform operations in parallel.
