Installing Cloudera Manager and a CDP Private Cloud Base cluster

Before installing Cloudera Edge Management, you need to set up CDP Private Cloud Base with Cloudera Manager.

Make sure you have installed a JDK.
If you intend to use an external database, ensure you have installed and configured it.

See the CDP Private Cloud Base Installation Guide for comprehensive instructions on installing Cloudera Manager and a CDP Private Cloud Base cluster. Ensure to perform the following minimum steps.

Install CDP Private Cloud Base.

Enable Auto-TLS and Kerberos.

Unsecured Edge Flow Management is not supported.

- Wildcard certificates are not supported.
- If Edge Flow Management operates behind Knox, do not use wildcard certificates for Knox.
For more information on certificate requirements, see TLS certificate requirements and recommendations.
As Edge Flow Management has no dependency on any other CDP Private Cloud Base service, you do not need to install additional services.

When the CDP Private Cloud Base cluster installation is ready, add the CEM parcel and CSD files.
