Preparing your Cloudera Private Cloud Base cluster

Before you begin installing NiFi and NiFi Registry, you need to prepare your Cloudera Private Cloud Base cluster.

Installing and configuring Python
You must install Python 3 on each machine where NiFi will run. The minimum supported version is Python 3.11, but Cloudera recommends installing and configuring Python 3.12.
Installing and configuring JDK
To use NiFi and NiFi Registry, you must install Java Development Kit (JDK) 21 and configure it on each machine where these services will run. You can choose any JDK distribution, but Cloudera recommends using Azul’s zulu21-jdk.
Installing and configuring a database for NiFi Registry
If you are installing NiFi Registry, you can install and configure an external MySQL or PostgreSQL database. By default, NiFi Registry is preconfigured to use an embedded H2 database.
Installing Cloudera Manager and a Cloudera Private Cloud Base cluster
Before installing NiFi and NiFi Registry, you need to install Cloudera Private Cloud Base with Cloudera Manager and certain Runtime services.
Installing the Cloudera Flow Management parcel from the repository
Install the Cloudera Flow Management parcel to make NiFi and NiFi Registry available for installation. To install the Cloudera Flow Management parcel to Cloudera Manager, you must update the Parcel URL, and then download, distribute and activate it.
Downloading Custom Service Descriptor files
A Custom Service Descriptor (CSD) file contains configuration information needed to describe and manage a new service. Download the CSDs for each Cloudera Flow Management Service, specify ownership and permissions, and then restart the Cloudera Manager Server.
