Supported paths to Cloudera Flow Management 4.10.0

Cloudera recommends running NiFi on the Cloudera platform to take full advantage of the latest updates and features.

You can run NiFi 2 on Cloudera by installing the Cloudera Flow Management 4.10.0 parcel on the Cloudera data platform.

Upgrading from Cloudera Flow Management 4.0.0 to 4.10.0

If you previously installed Cloudera Flow Management 4.0.0 [Technical Preview], you can upgrade to 4.10.0 directly. This upgrade path assumes a full in-place upgrade of Cloudera Flow Management on Cloudera Base on premises, without requiring data migration between clusters.

Migrating from Cloudera Flow Management 2.1.7 to 4.10.0

There is no direct upgrade path from Cloudera Flow Management versions using NiFi 1 (such as 2.1.7 and lower) to Cloudera Flow Management 4.10.0

To support this transition, Cloudera provides a Migration Tool that automates complex and repetitive tasks when converting flows to be compatible with NiFi 2, reducing manual effort and potential errors.

You can also use the NiFi pre-upgrade check feature to prepare for the transition to NiFi 2. For more information, see Migration precheck for moving from NiFi 1 to NiFi 2.

To migrate from Cloudera Flow Management 2.1.7 to 4.10.0:

  1. Install Cloudera Flow Management 4.10.0 on your system.

  2. Use the Cloudera Flow Management Migration Tool to transform your existing NiFi 1 flows into NiFi 2-compatible flows.

  3. Import the converted flows into your newly installed Cloudera Flow Management 4.10.0 environment.
