What's new in Cloudera Streaming Analytics
Cloudera Streaming Analytics 1.18.0 covers new features beside the core streaming functionality of Apache Flink and SQL Stream Builder.
- Cloudera platform support
Cloudera Streaming Analytics 1.18.0 is supported on Cloudera on premises 7.3.2.10000. Review the 7.3.2.10000 Release Notes and Support Matrix to understand which operating system, database, and JDK versions are supported for Cloudera Streaming Analytics as well.
- Apache Flink 1.20.5
Cloudera Streaming Analytics 1.18.0 upgrades the underlying Apache Flink runtime to 1.20.5.
- Apache Iceberg 1.10.0
The Iceberg connector and catalog integration in Cloudera Streaming Analytics are updated to Apache Iceberg 1.10.0. Update custom jobs and Maven dependencies that reference Iceberg artifacts to the Cloudera Streaming Analytics 1.18.0 Maven artifact versions.
- Git source control improvements for Cloudera SQL Stream Builder
Cloudera SQL Stream Builder source control now supports selective commits, so you can push only the jobs, tables, UDFs, and other assets you choose instead of the entire project. Import from Git also shows a change review before changes are applied to your local project.
For more information, see Source control of a project and Selective commits and import review.
- Securing Flink services with TLS
New documentation describes how to enable TLS for Flink external REST endpoints when clients connect directly to Flink rather than through the YARN proxy or Knox Gateway, and how to configure TLS manually for Flink internal and REST services cluster-wide when Cloudera Manager cannot yet generate Flink keystores.
For more information, see Securing Flink external REST endpoints with TLS and Configuring TLS/SSL encryption manually for Flink services.
- TLS 1.3 for Cloudera Streaming Analytics network endpoints
Cloudera Streaming Analytics services consume the central TLS cipher and protocol settings from Cloudera Manager. Streaming Analytics network endpoints allow TLS 1.3 connections only by default. Clients that use TLS versions earlier than 1.3 are rejected.
For more information, see Behavioral changes.
