Creating a custom color palette with distinct colors

Users with an administrative role can create custom color palettes with distinct colors. These palettes are useful when you want to apply clearly differentiated colors to categorical data.

  1. Click New Customer Color to open the Create Custom Color interface.
  2. Enter the Name of the new color.
    In this example, Leaf is used.
  3. Optional: In Description, enter additional information about the palette.
  4. For Type, select Distinct.
  5. Define the colors for the palette.
    1. Choose a color to add.

      For each color, you can:

      • Enter an RGB, HSL, or hexadecimal color code, or
      • Use the color picker to select a color.
    2. Click + Add Color to add a second color to the new custom palette.
      Continue adding colors until the palette contains the required number of distinct colors.
      In this example, the following colors have been added to the custom color palette called Leaf:

  6. Click Save.
  7. Click the Custom Colors tab to return to the Manage Custom Colors interface.
  • The new distinct custom color palette you created is added to the list of custom colors on the Manage Custom Colors interface.
  • The new custom palette becomes available in the Style > Colors menu of visuals.

You can edit or delete the palette using the available actions.
