Automatically renaming dataset fields

You can automatically format dataset field names as readable display names without changing the source column names in Cloudera Data Visualization.

The following steps use the Cereals dataset as an example.

  1. On the left navigation panel, click Data.

    The Data view opens, displaying the Datasets tab.

  2. Select a connection from the connection list on the left side panel.
  3. In the Datasets area, click the dataset you want to modify.
  4. In the Dataset Detail menu, select Fields.
  5. Click Edit to access the editing interface.
  6. In the top-right corner of the page, click Title Case.

    Field display names are updated.

    For example, the Dimension cereal_name becomes Cereal Name.

  7. Click Save.
