Creating a dataset from a data extract

After running a data extract, you can create a new dataset based on the extracted data. This dataset can then be used to build visuals and dashboards.

  1. Click DATA on the main navigation bar.
    The Data view opens, displaying the Datasets tab by default.
  2. Click Data Extracts.
    The Data Extracts view is displayed, showing all data extracts defined in the Cloudera Data Visualization instance.
  3. Locate the data extract that you want to use for the new dataset and click the name of its source dataset.
    The Dataset Detail view is displayed.
  4. Click Data Extracts in the left navigation panel.
    The Dataset Detail view is displayed, showing the data extracts defined on the selected dataset.
  5. Find the data extract that you want to use for the new dataset and click CREATE DATASET.
  6. Add a name in the Dataset Title field.
  7. Click CREATE to save the new dataset.
