Kerberos principal preparation
If your environment requires the manual creation of Kerberos service principals, you must establish the custom principal prior to environment activation. Consult your Kerberos administrator to configure the principal with the specified parameters.
Principal structure and components
A Kerberos principal follows a specific format:
<service name>/<custom
hostname>@REALM. For this configuration, the components are defined as follows:| Principal name component | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Service name | Hive | The service user name for the Hive service on the base cluster. |
| Hostname | FQDN | The Fully Qualified Domain Name of your chosen host. For example, edgehost123.customer.com. |
| Realm | YOUR-REALM | The Kerberos realm managed by your KDC, as specified by your organization. For example, @CORP.EXAMPLE.COM ) |
