Enabling the new Cloudera Data Explorer (Hue) Storage Browser (Technical Preview)

The legacy version of the Storage Browser is enabled by default. To utilize the enhanced features and improved interface of the new Data Explorer Storage Browser, you must enable the Data Explorer Storage Browser manually through configuration settings.

  1. Go to Cloudera Manager > Clusters > Data Explorer (Hue) service > Configuration.
  2. In the search, enter hue_safety_valve.ini to locate the Hue Service Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) for hue_safety_valve.ini advanced configuration snippet.
  3. Set the configuration in the Hue Service Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) for the hue_safety_valve.ini advanced configuration snippet as follows: 
    [desktop]
enable_new_storage_browser=true
  4. Click the Apply Changes button.
    The new Data Explorer Storage Browser is enabled.
