Registering secrets

Learn how you can register secrets for your environment that allows you to securely access your data sources using connectors.

You must have registered and activated your environment.
You must create a secret with your cloud service provider.
important
For Amazon AWS, you must create the secret as Plaintext rather than a Key/value pair. For example, if your password is demopassword, enter only the string demopassword in the plaintext field instead of {“password“: “demopassword“} in the key/value pair field.

Log in to the Cloudera Data Warehouse service.
From the Overview page, click the Environments tab and identify the Environment against which you want to register the secret, and then click > Details.
In the Environment Details page, click the SECRETS tab.
A list of secrets that are registered for this environment are displayed.
Click Register Secret and enter the following information in the Register Secret modal:
1. Enter a name for the secret.
2. Enter the Secret Key Name of your cloud provider.
3. For Azure environments, enter the Vault Name.
4. Click Register

The registered secret is listed in the Secrets page and can be used while creating a connector.
