You can enable and configure the Intermediate Results Cache feature when creating a new Impala Virtual Warehouse to improve query performance and resource efficiency for repeated analytic workloads.
You must have the DWAdmin role for the target environment.

Log in to the Cloudera Data Warehouse console.

Click New Virtual Warehouse on the Virtual Warehouses tab.

In the Create Virtual Warehouse drawer, enter a
Name, set Type to
Impala, and select your target
Environment and Database
Catalog.

Configure compute sizes and image versions as required.

Expand Impala Specific Settings.

Select the Intermediate Results Cache checkbox to enable Intermediate Result Cache.

In the Intermediate Results Cache Size (GiB) field, enter the maximum storage capacity (in GiB) to allocate for storing intermediate cached query outputs across executor nodes.
If the value is not specified, the default size of 20 GiB is applied. Configured values must be greater than 0 and cannot exceed 50% of the data cache; invalid values are rejected during validation.

Click Create Virtual Warehouse.
