Verifying model compatibility

Before designing and deploying an agent workflow, you can validate your model's function-calling support using the built-in sanity check within the Agent Studio User Interface (UI). No code or workflow configuration is required.

In the Cloudera console, click the Cloudera AI tile. The Cloudera AI Workbenches is displayed.
Click on the name of the workbench. The Cloudera AI Workbench Home page is displayed.
In the left navigation pane, click AI Studios.
On the Agent Studio tile, click Open. The Agent Studio window is displayed.
Click the LLMs tab. The Language Models window is displayed.
Select the icon from the Actions menu of the specific model you want to validate.
The Test Model modal window opens.
Click the Function Calling tab.
Click on Test Function Calling. The model is validated and the test results are displayed as follows:

Run the function calling validation test as an immediate step after registering any new model asset. This check completes in seconds and prevents downstream integration failures. Use the adjacent Text tab to run a basic connectivity ping before testing the tool run.
