Exporting and verifying

This section helps you to add the exporter and verify that the exporter is registered by running commands below.

Add the exporter by selecting one of the following choices:
- Add the third-party exporter if Cloudera Observability SaaS is enabled

- Add the third-party exporter if Cloudera Observability SaaS is not enabled

  Adding the --setup-prerequisites option includes Altus credentials, enables Telemetry Publisher, and updates the remote write URL using dummy data. This process allows you to export metrics and logs without enabling Cloudera Observability SaaS. It registers your exporter and routes a copy of the exported data to the Cloudera Observability SaaS environment.

./obs-cli.sh add-exporter --file exporter.yaml --setup-prerequisites --refresh
```
This command registers your exporter, routes a copy of the exported metrics and logs to your configured third-party observability platform, and configures the prerequisites using placeholder values. The script includes placeholder PEM certificate data in the Altus credentials.
Verification: Confirm that your exporter is registered ./obs-cli.sh list-exporters
Review the full metrics configuration, which includes exporters, pipelines, and connectors: ./obs-cli.sh get-metric-configs

You should see your exporter (for example, prometheusremotewrite/partner) and a corresponding metrics/... pipeline.
