This section describes how you can authenticate your third-party observability
platform without an extension.
How you authenticate depends on your third-party observability platform. For specific
field requirements, see the OpenTelemetry exporter documentation.
-
Inline exporter configuration: Some of the exporters include credential fields. Specify the credentials directly in the exporter.yaml file. For example,
# Datadog — API key inline
datadog/partner:
api:
key: "<datadog-api-key>"
site: "datadoghq.com"
# Splunk HEC — token inline
splunk_hec/partner:
endpoint: "https://splunk.example.com:8088/services/collector"
token: "<hec-token>"
# Prometheus remote write — bearer token / custom header inline
prometheusremotewrite/partner:
endpoint: "https://receive.example.com/api/v1/receive"
headers:
Authorization: "Bearer <token>"
-
You must export and verify. To export and verify, see the Exporting and verifying
documentation.
