Prerequisites for OpenTelemetry gateway exporters in Cloudera Base on premises

To set up OpenTelemetry (Otel) for real-time monitoring, you must meet key system and network prerequisites. You must upgrade to or install Cloudera Base on premises 7.3.2 or higher, enable telemetry network communication, and enable real-time monitoring through the Cloudera Manager API. Additionally, verify that the OpenTelemetry gateway is enabled on your cluster.

Prerequisites

  1. You must upgrade to or install Cloudera Manager version 7.13.2.0 and higher.
  2. You must enable the telemetry network communication for Cloudera Observability on premises. For more information, see Enabling the telemetry network communication for Cloudera Observability on premises.
  3. You must enable Cloudera Observability Real-time monitoring using Cloudera Manager API. For more information, see Enabling Cloudera Observability Real-time monitoring using Cloudera Manager API.
  4. Verify that OpenTelemetry gateway is enabled on a cluster. For more information, see OpenTelemetry gateway is enabled on a cluster.
  5. Download the obs-cli.sh validation script.
