Cloudera Observability Planning and Projections

The Cloudera Observability Planning and Projections feature uses machine learning techniques, such as time series forecasting, to predict resource usage, including RAM, CPU, and storage, over the next three to six months. Designed for Cloudera Private Cloud Base and Cloudera Data Hub clusters, this feature provides daily or weekly projections to help you plan infrastructure needs proactively. By analyzing historical usage data, it provides precise insights into resource allocation and scaling strategies. This capability supports effective capacity planning, enhances financial predictability, and ensures optimal performance and cost efficiency across both Cloudera on cloud and Cloudera on premises environments.

Stale clusters, which are no longer receiving new data but still contain historical data, are also supported.

This feature is currently supported only for the Cloudera Private Cloud Base and Cloudera Data Hub clusters.

You can forecast the cluster projections up to six months by selecting the Daily or Weekly frequency. This forecast is based on historical data. There are two parts to the data that are displayed in the widgets. The left side of the graph is the historical data, and the right side is the forecast based on the timeline selected. The forecast range of minimum and maximum is also displayed. The forecast workflow includes three widgets: Memory, Storage, and Compute.
