Configuring Load Balancer for Impala

When using a load balancer for Impala, applications connect to a single well-known host and port, rather than keeping track of the hosts where a specific Impala daemon is running. The load balancer also lets the Impala nodes share resources to balance out the work loads.

  1. In Cloudera Manager, select the Impala service.
  2. In the Configuration tab, type load balancer in the search box.
  3. In the Impala Daemons Load Balancer field, type the hostname and port number of the load balancer in the format hostname:port number.
  4. Click Save Changes to commit the changes.
