Add a scheduling rule

A scheduling rule defines when a configuration set is active. You can add scheduling rule using Cloudera Manager.

  1. In Cloudera Manager, click Clusters.
  2. Select the Cluster Name.
  3. Click Dynamic Resource Pool Configuration.
    If the cluster has a YARN service, the YARN / Resource Pool tab displays. If the cluster has an Impala service enabled, the Impala Admission Control / Resource Pool tab displays.
  4. Click the YARN tab.
  5. Click the Scheduling Rules tab.
  6. Click Create Scheduling Rule.
  7. In the Configuration Set field, choose the configuration set to wich the rule applies.
    Select Create New or Use Existing.
  8. If you create a new configuration set, type a name in the Name field.
  9. If you use an existing configuration set, select one from the drop-down list.
  10. Configure the rule to repeat or not:

To repeat the rule, do the followind:

  1. Keep the Repeat field selected.
  2. Specify the repeat frequency.
    If the frequency is weekly, specify the repeat day or days.

If the rule does not repeat, do the following:

  1. Clear the Repeat field.
  2. Click the left side of the on field.
    A drop-down calendar displays where you set the starting date and time.

    When you specify the date and time, a default time window of two hours is set in the right side of the on field.

  3. Click the right side to adjust the date and time.
  4. Click Create.
  5. Click Refreash Dynamic Resource Pools.
