Authenticating Cloudera Data Explorer (Hue) users with PAM

You can use Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM) for authentication in Data Explorer.

  1. Log in to Cloudera Manager as an Administrator.
  2. Go to Clusters > Hue > Configuration and select desktop.auth.backend.PamBackend from the Authentication Backend drop-down menu.
    The default value of the PAM Backend Service Name property is login.
  3. Click Save Changes.
  4. Restart the Hue service.
