Make sure you have the correct components showing in HDFS.
In Ambari Web, go to the Services view and select HDFS from the Services navigation panel.
Check the Summary panel and make sure that the first three lines look like this:
NameNode
SNameNode
DataNodes
You should not see any line for JournalNodes.
