Support matrix for data migration
Data migration between FIPS compliance levels requires a fresh cluster installation for Cloudera Base on premises and Cloudera Manager workloads.
Upgrades between supported Cloudera versions with FIPS already enabled are fully permissible, provided they maintain the same level of compliance.
When they are on different compliance levels, such as from 140-2 to 140-3, you must perform a fresh installation and then migrate your data from the previous cluster to the new cluster, using Replication Manager.
The following Cloudera Manager and Cloudera Base on premises versions are supported for migration, provided the previous clusters are FIPS-enabled:
FIPS 140-2 - The following versions are the source versions
for migration:
- Cloudera Manager 7.11.3, 7.13.1 and 7.13.2
- Cloudera Base on premises 7.1.9 (SP1, SP2), 7.3.1 (SP1, SP2, SP3) and 7.3.2
FIPS 140-3 - The following versions are the target versions
for migration:
- Cloudera Manager 7.13.2.10000
- Cloudera Base on premises 7.3.2 SP1
