Allocating resources for CPU and memory for generating the diagnostics bundle

With DEAdmin role, optionally, allocate CPU and memory resources before diagnostics bundle generation to prevent Out-of-Memory (OOM) errors and processing failures when handling large log sets.

  1. On the Cloudera Data Engineering UI, select Administration in the left navigation pane.
  2. Select the Cloudera Data Engineering Service for which you want to download the diagnostics bundle.
  3. Click on the (three-dot menu) icon, and select the Download Diagnostics option. Alternatively, on the Diagnostics tab of the Service Details page, click the Generate Diagnostics Bundle button.
The Generate Diagnostics Bundle dialog box is displayed.
  4. In the dialog box, select the Advanced Settings tab. Adjust the CPU (Cores) and the Memory resources to prevent generation failures for diagnostics bundles.
  5. Increase the CPU (Cores) value in the Maximum field.
  6. Increase the Memory value in the Maximum field.
  7. Click Generate to generate the diagnostics bundle.
  8. Optional: If the diagnostics bundle fails to generate due to insufficient resources, increase the values further in the CPU (Cores) and Memory Maximum fields.
