Downloading a visual as a PPTX file

You can download individual visuals as PowerPoint (PPTX) files in Cloudera Data Visualization. This feature allows you to easily share insights or present visual content outside the platform.

This feature is available for all visual types. When you download a visual as a PowerPoint file, Cloudera Data Visualization generates a single slide containing the visual’s title, subtitle, and a screenshot of the visual. If annotations are available, they are included alongside the visual on the slide.

Before downloading the visual as a PPTX file, ensure the download feature is enabled in the site settings. For instructions, see Snapshots in Managing dashboard site settings.
  1. Click the icon in the top-right corner of the visual and select Download as... > PowerPoint.

A message appears: Generating the requested file and Cloudera Data Visualization saves the visual as a PPTX file.

  2. When the download is complete, open your browser’s default download folder to locate the generated PowerPoint file.

    Example:

    • Generated file name: Table_Visual_20251026103845.pptx
    • File name components:
      1. Table_Visual: Same as the visual name
      2. 20251026: Date of download in YYYYMMDD format
      3. 103845: Time of download in hhmmss format

If the visual’s title or subtitle contains unsupported characters, Cloudera Data Visualization replaces them automatically.

The downloaded PowerPoint file has a single slide that includes:
    • Title and subtitle of the visual
    • Annotations, when present, displayed next to the visual
    • Username and timestamp for the download
