Automated Apache Ozone storage integration for Virtual Warehouse
Automated integration with Apache Ozone storage through the S3A protocol eliminates the need for manual configuration on Cloudera Data Warehouse. Credentials and endpoints are managed centrally through the Cloudera Management Console UI and automatically propagated to all relevant Virtual Warehouse components and query engines, including Hive, Impala, and Trino. This enhancement simplifies storage administration and secures credential management through automated JCEKS and vault delivery.
Key capabilities
This integration provides the following key capabilities:
- Automated storage provisioning — Eliminates manual administrative overhead by automatically configuring Apache Ozone storage through the S3A protocol, completely removing the need for manual core-site.xml file edits for Cloudera Manager adjustments.
- Centralized credential orchestration — Allows administrators to define S3 credentials only once in the Cloudera Management Console (). The system then automatically handles secure HashiCorp Vault storage and JCEKS keystore generation.
- Unified cross-engine deployment — Automatically injects necessary bucket configurations, gateway URLs, and path-style routing parameters across all active query engines, ensuring uniform data access for Hive, Impala, and Trino.
- Safe overrides and compatibility — Safeguards custom
deployments by preserving existing manual overrides (
SetKVIfMissing) and prevents system failures on lower Cloudera Data Services on premises versions through backward compatibility.
