Configuring the gateway nodes using Cloudera Manager

If outbound internet access is unavailable for all cluster nodes, specific Gateway nodes must be designated to centrally forward the telemetry data. However, if outbound internet access is available for all the cluster nodes, then the following configuration procedure is optional.

These Gateway nodes can be configured using Cloudera Manager.

Log in to Cloudera Manager
Navigate to Clusters
Go to Configurations
Search for OpenTelemetry Collector Gateway Hosts or otelcol_gateway_hosts
Provide a hostname from the same cluster which you want to dedicate as the gateway host. To add more gateway hosts, click on the plus icon and add more gateways. For example, host01.example.com.
Click Save Changes

If Cloudera Manager is managing more than one Cloudera on premises cluster, then each on premises cluster must have its gateways. You must use the host override configuration for the cluster-level gateways. For information on overriding hosts, see the Viewing and Editing Host Overrides documentation.
