Enabling Cloudera Observability Real-time monitoring for Private Cloud Base

Before enabling the Cloudera Observability Real-time monitoring feature, you must review the gateway recommendations, configure the telemetry publisher and gateway nodes, and update the metrics ingestion URL.

Prerequisite: To ensure the proper functioning of Real-Time Monitoring (RTM) feature, configure TLS for Cloudera Manager Agents if you selected the manual TLS option during Cloudera Base on premises installation or upgrade. For information on configuring TLS manually, see Configure TLS for Cloudera Manager Agents. This prerequisite does not apply if you choose the Cloudera Manager Auto-TLS option during the installation or upgrade.

The high-level steps to enable the Cloudera Observability Real-time monitoring feature include:
  1. Configuring Telemetry Publisher
  2. Updating metrics ingestion URL
  3. Configuring the gateway nodes using Cloudera Manager
  4. Gateway OpenTelemetry Collector Recommendation
  5. Enabling Cloudera Observability Real-time monitoring feature using Cloudera Manager API or Cloudera Manager User Interface.
