Installing Livy

Before you can install Livy, you need to download the HDP 2.6 repo. See the HDP 2.6.0 Release Notes.

Follow these steps to install the Livy package:

  1. Search for Livy in the HDP repository:

    • Use this command if you are using RHEL or CentOS:

      yum search livy

    • Use this command if you are using SLES:

      zypper search livy

    • Use this command if you are using Ubuntu or Debian:

      apt-cache livy

The following example shows all available versions of Livy:

    livy.noarch: livy Distro virtual package
livy_2_5_0_0_103.noarch : Livy is an open source REST interface for interacting with Spark from anywhere.
It supports executing snippets of code or programs in a Spark context that run locally or in YARN.

Name and summary matches only: use "search all" for everything.
