Exporting a dashboard

In Cloudera Data Visualization, you can export dashboards and applications to move them between environments (for example, from development or testing to production) or to create backups.

Exporting a dashboard generates a JSON file, which is saved to your download directory. You can then import this file into another system, provided that the target environment has identical data connections.

When exporting a dashboard, the export includes the dashboard itself, its visuals, and the underlying dataset(s).

Find the dashboard you want to export. Open it either in Edit or View mode.
Click from the top menu bar to open the supplemental menu and click Export.

The Export Visual Artifacts modal appears.

In addition to the dashboard itself, the utility exports all dashboard elements: visuals, datasets, static assets, custom styles, and custom color.
Optional: You can change the name of the export file.
Click EXPORT to confirm the export of the dashboard.
