The Hortonworks Data Platform consists of multiple components that are installed across the cluster. The cluster properties file specifies the directory locations and node host locations for each of the components.
Use one of the following methods to modify the cluster properties file:
Option I - Using the HDP Setup GUI interface to generate a cluster properties file for GUI use or export a generated
clusterproperties.txtfor a CLI installation. Recommended for first-time users and single-node installations.Option II - Using the CLI to manually create a
clusterproperties.txtfile, if you are familiar with your systems and HDP requirements.
