Editing datasets based on a SQL query

Cloudera Data Visualization allows you to modify the SQL query that defines a dataset to control which rows and columns are available for analysis.

On the left navigation panel, click Data.

The Data view opens, displaying the Datasets tab.
Navigate to a dataset that you created using a SQL query.
Click it to open the Dataset Detail view.
Locate the SQL editor, which displays the query that defines the dataset.
You can edit this SQL statement to change the dataset contents.

Restricting columns in datasets based on SQL query
You can restrict which columns are included in a dataset by modifying the SQL query to select only the required fields.
Restricting rows in datasets based on SQL query
You can restrict which rows are included in a dataset by adding filtering conditions to the query. This limits the records available for analysis.
