Downloading and Installing CEM
This section gives you a brief overview of downloading and installing the CEM software.
Download the software
The download location of CEM software bits is https://www.cloudera.com/downloads.html.

Review supported operating systems
Before you install the EFM server and MiNiFi agents, review the supported operating
systems listed in the following table:

Install CEM
You should install Java 8 on the machine on which you will install the EFM Server, NiFi Registry, and each machine onto which you will install a MiNiFi Java agent.
To install EFM and use it, you need to perform the following steps:
- Install database.
- Install NiFi Registry.
- Download the EFM server binaries.
- Install EFM server.
- Configure EFM server.
- Open network ports.
- Start EFM server.

To install MiNiFi agents and use it, you need to perform the following steps:
- Install your MiNiFi agents.
- Configure your MiNiFi agents.
- Start MiNiFi agents.
