Key updates include the technical preview of commenting on dashboards and visuals, improvements to AI visuals and annotations, enhanced data connection handling, and usability improvements across the application.
AI visual improvements
- VIZ-3193, VIZ-3316, VIZ-3384 – AI visual improvements
- The AI visual can now dynamically aggregate data within a dataset for answers to your questions on any data connection, without requiring a vector database. Transparency has been improved, showing the data, requests, and results used to generate responses. For more information, see the AI visual documentation.
Collaboration and annotations
- VIZ-2985, VIZ-2986, VIZ-2988, VIZ-2990, VIZ-2997, VIZ-3514, VIZ-3522 – Commenting on dashboards and visuals [Technical Preview]
- You can now leave comments and reply to comments directly on visuals and dashboards for easier collaboration. To enable the feature, go to the Administration menu, open Enable Commenting (Tech Preview). For more information, see Commenting on visuals and dashboards. , and select
- VIZ-3267 – AI annotation improvements for visuals
- Annotations generated with AI are now more accurate for visuals like KPI, sparkline, bullet, and gauge charts, explaining what the visual shows. Prompts now include shelf and visual-specific information customized for specific visual types, producing more accurate analysis. For instructions on using annotations, see Creating annotation for visuals and Creating annotation for dashboards.
- VIZ-3450 – Visual artifact annotations preserved during export and import
- Annotations added to dashboards and visuals are now included when exporting or importing. This enhancement ensures annotations are retained when moving the visual artifacts across environments, improving portability and collaboration.
Data connectivity and integration
- VIZ-3169 – Auto-discovery of data connections
- Cloudera Data Visualization now automatically discovers and creates data connections for Solr, SQL Stream Builder, Hive, and Impala in Cloudera Base on premises environments. Data connections are synced by default at application startup. This ensures that connections reflect the current state of your Cloudera Base on premises cluster.
- VIZ-3257 – Bulk syncing and out-of-sync alerts for Cloudera Data Warehouse data connections
- You can now bulk sync Cloudera Data Warehouse Impala/Hive connections to keep configurations up to date, similar to Cloudera AI connections. Connections that are out of sync or reference non-existent warehouses are marked with an alert icon, making it easy to identify and resolve issues directly from the UI. For more information, see Synchronizing data connections.
- VIZ-3358 – Improved data connection modal
- A new Info tab in the Edit Data Connection modal displays the connection configuration in JSON format, allowing you to view and copy data connection details. This information can be imported through the Import from JSON tab in the New Data Connection modal to quickly clone connections. This enhancement simplifies sharing and recreating data connections. For more information, see Reusing data connection settings.
- VIZ-3482 – Trino and Phoenix data connection icons on the homepage
- Trino and Phoenix data connections now show the respective icons on the Cloudera Data Visualization homepage.
Dashboard and visual experience
- VIZ-2143 – Dashboard title visibility in Edit mode

- The layout and usability of the Manage Custom Styles and Create Custom Style pages have been improved.
Asset and data management
