Custom Installation Solutions
Some installations may require custom solutions such as creating virtual images of
cluster hosts, configuring a custom Java home location, or creating a Runtime cluster using a
template.
Creating Virtual Images of Cluster Hosts You can create virtual machine images, such as PXE-boot images, Amazon AMIs, and Azure VM images of cluster hosts with pre-deployed Cloudera software that you can use to quickly spin up virtual machines. Configuring a Custom Java Home Location Although not recommended, the Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK), which Cloudera services require, may be installed at a custom location if necessary. These steps assume you have already installed the JDK as documented in Step 2: Install Java Development Kit .Creating a Runtime Cluster Using a Cloudera Manager Template You can create a new CDH cluster by exporting a cluster template from an existing CDH cluster managed by Cloudera Manager. You can then modify the template and use it to create new clusters with the same configuration on a new set of hosts.
