What's new in Edge Flow Manager
Edge Flow Manager (EFM) enables you to manage, control, and monitor agents that are deployed on the edge devices in IoT implementations. You can use these agents to collect real-time data originating from the devices to create and push actionable intelligence and insights to the place of data origin.
- Cloudera Manager integration
- EFM is now also provided as parcel and CSD files, so that you can use Cloudera Manager to install, configure, manage, and monitor EFM. For more information about the integration, see Installing Cloudera Edge Management on CDP Private Cloud Base.
- Jetty and Spring upgrade
-
In this release, Edge Flow Manager moves to Jetty 12. This transition also enables upgrading to the latest Spring and Spring Boot versions, delivering improved stability, performance, and security.
- Improved EFM caching
-
The internal EFM caching mechanism has been optimized, resulting in improved stability of EFM.
- Oracle database support
-
In this release, EFM introduces extended database compatibility, now supporting Oracle Database versions 19 and 23, in addition to existing support for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB databases. This enhancement expands the range of database options, offering increased flexibility and compatibility. For more information, see Installing and configuring OracleDB.
- Improved import/export functionality
-
The import/export functionality is now also available on the UI. The functionality remains available on REST API too. You can trigger an import/export flow on the Dashboard by opening the agent class details and selecting the appropriate option from the Actions drop-down.
This functionality is also available in the Designer view under the Actions drop-down. For more information, see Exporting and importing dataflows using EFM UI.
- Agent class delete option
-
From this release, you can delete an agent class if there is no online agent associated with it. Deletion can be initiated on the Dashboard by opening the agent class details and selecting it from the Actions drop-down. For more information, see Deleting agent class.
