Add storage directories using Cloudera Manager

You can add a new storage directory and specify the storage type using Cloudera Manager.

  1. Go to the HDFS service.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. Select Scope > DataNode.
  4. Add the new storage directory to the DataNode Data Directory property.
    To specify the storage type for the HDFS heterogeneous storage, add the storage type, surrounded by brackets, at the front of the path. For example: [SSD]/data/example_dir/.
  5. Enter a Reason for change, and then click Save Changes to commit the changes.
  6. Restart the DataNode.
