Command Details

The Command Details page lists the details of the First Run command.

You can expand the running commands to view the details of any step, including log files and command output. You can filter the view by selecting Show All Steps, Show Only Failed Steps, or Show Only Running Steps.

After the First Run command completes, click Continue to go to the Summary page.

If your cluster includes the Hive service, the service may fail to start and the following error message will appear:

[main]: MetaException(message:Failed to instantiate listener named: org.apache.kudu.hive.metastore.KuduMetastorePlugin, reason: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.kudu.hive.metastore.KuduMetastorePlugin)
If the Hive service fails to start, do the following:
  1. Open the Cloudera Manager Admin Console.
  2. Go to Hosts > All Hosts > Configuration.
  3. Locate the P2P Parcel Distribution Port property.
  4. Change the value to 0.
  5. Go to the Hive service.
  6. Click the Configuration tab.
  7. Change the following properties:
    Hive Metastore Server Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) for hive-site.xml
    Add the following:
    <property>
      <name>hive.metastore.transactional.event.listeners</name>
      <value>
        org.apache.hive.hcatalog.listener.DbNotificationListener
      </value>
    </property>
    HiveServer2 Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) for hive-site.xml
    Add the following:
    <property>
      <name>hive.metastore.transactional.event.listeners</name>
      <value>
        org.apache.hive.hcatalog.listener.DbNotificationListener
      </value>
    </property>
  8. Click Resume in the wizard to restart the installation wizard.

If cluster deployment fails, be sure to click Resume in the wizard after you fix any issues. If you do not click Resume, the Ranger service will not enable all of the necessary plugins.
