Configuring Resource Manager for queue-based autoscaling

You must set the Resource Manager plugin property to fine using the Cloudera Manager.

  1. In Cloudera Manager, select the YARN service.
  2. Go to the Configuration tab.
  3. Search for plugin-type and set the below property in the ResourceManager Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) for yarn-site.xml field. 
    Name:  yarn.resourcemanager.autoscaling.plugin-type
Value: fine
  4. Save the changes.
  5. Start or Restart the YARN ResourceManager service for the changes to apply.
