Other syntax and semantic changes

In addition to the key Hive syntax and semantic changes, there are a number of other Hive changes in CDP you need to know about after migrating to CDP from CDH. The other changes are covered release by release.

Several of the other changes are the result of CDP being based on Apache Hive 3, which is closer to SQL standards than earlier versions of Hive, which CDH was based on.

The documentation includes a workaround if there is one.
